GEA by Gianluca Branca of the Fine Arts of the Brera
Based on the citation of the iconic geometric figure of intersected circles from the vocabulary of Carlo Scarpa, the project lightly resolves the theme of the cupboard, crossing Scarpa’s quote, made dynamic by the use of sliding doors, with a measured Japanese geometry and a wise use of a single essence of wood.
GIRA by Shinjo Taeko of IED, Florence
The reference to the modernist expressions of the architects Gio Ponti and Eileen Gray, combined with the elegant simplicity of the materials, gave life to the Gira project, a movable wall capable of transforming itself into a container or into an individual space for reading or working, solving with elegance the spatial theme of separating without dividing.
FAMIGLIA SURREALE (SURREAL FAMILY) by Andrea Oselin, Giada Buzzichini and Lorenzo Taccetta of Milan Polytechnic
The formal reference to the Royal table of Carlo Mollino, combined with the thin metal rods of the works by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen, translate themselves into a table with a contemporary aesthetic, combined with a seat in the same precious veneer, a further homage to Mollino’s creative genious and his Fenis chair.
CHARLOTTE by Enrico Della Guerra, IED of Florence
A shelving as an apparently free development in the space of shapes, volumes and horizontal planes. Taking up an iconic solution from the 1940s, the Charlotte project is enriched by inserting elements of color and shapes inspired by the tiles of the Florentine Heaven’s Door.
T5 by Federica Miccoli, Academy of fine Arts of Cuneo
The project proposes a refined reinterpretation of the 1930s furnishing in bent tube and wood, appropriately developing the theme of structural lightness and bending, simultaneously developing complex curves on different axes with interesting spatial and formal results.
TAVOLO SAVOY by Parisa Mazidian, Academy of fine Arts of Brera
The unique and sinuous silhouette of the historic Savoy Vase by Alvar Aalro, modeled in two mahogany elements on which rests a glass top, becomes the powerful stylistic signature of the sophisticated Savoy table.
LIGERA by Miguel Reguero
Based on the overlapping of solid elementary supporting volumes and thin horizontal surfaces in variable essences, the LIGERA project develops the basic trilithic figure of the table theme with synthetic elegance and minimal use of signs.
QUARTA DIMENSIONE (FOURTH DIMENSION) by Zoeli Rota
The sublime intervention of Carlo Scarpa at the Querini Stampalia Foundation becomes the starting point for the formal and materic elaboration of the design of this modern sideboard with doors in wood, glass and brass details.
SAN FILIPPO (ST. PHILIP) by Geovanny Carigani and Luca Cotini
Awarded for having evoked the historic San Filippo desk, popular at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, updating its functional and aesthetic characteristics in an elegant modern piece of furniture.
ALBERO DI MAESTRA by Filippo Bugni and Andrea Vitali
The Albero di Maestra shelving takes up a theme dear to the design of the 60s, the self-supporting shelving with vertical supports for floor / ceiling compression. The solution with independent vertical trellis elements proposes a new figure, resolved with refinement of details and elegance of the lines of the tapered horizontal elements.
CESARE by Alessia Delprete and Alberto Podeschi
For the ability to satisfy with a touch of irony, behind a pure and timeless aesthetic, the current practical instances of modularity versatility and space optimization.
