The graphic play of full/empty, light/shadow is faced in the project with a particular sensitivity to three-dimensional illusion in a controlled parametric grid, where cavities and reliefs of an immaginary geography appear forcefully, generated by the use of veneers of five contrasting essences, assembled with the large-size inlay technique.

A minimal and compact dark surface made vibrant by the grain of the veneers is populated by a myriad of light dots of different size and intensity, connected by thin clear lines that didactically describe a starry sky and its constellations.

Design with an original, cheerful and at the same time expressive line, Doodle Mania is based on the idea that thoughts become art starting from a collective experience in which different users have produced scribbles, signs, shapes, imprecise traces or small drawings without thinking or thinking about it enough to enclose a thought. The whole has been combined to create a unique design made with the embossing or bas-relief technique, for a new and intriguing three-dimensional surface result that enhances the wood, thanks to technical virtuosity.

Awarded for the extraordinary ability to recreate the atmosphere of a sunset in an environment through the harmonious overlapping of light and dark colors of three different inlays from the Graffiti collection.

KASURI by Silvia Notaro, Hong Kong

Inspired by the transposition on inlay of the ancient Japanese Kasuri technique, with which the warp and weft threads are dyed before weaving by tying parts of the skein to protect them from dye, the project enhances, through the combination of different woods with harmoniously matching colors, the charm of a delicate and surprising aesthetic.

The project, based on the progressive variation of a regular orthogonal mesh texture, makes the graphic surface dynamic and decorative also thanks to the use of two contrasting essences and a dimensional expansion that surprises with its elegant optical effect.

The reassuring suggestion of a rainy day becomes in the RAIN project an opportunity for the exaltation of the bas-relief technique, with realistic three-dimensional effects on the wooden surface, made vibrant by a set of broken and parallel vertical lines.

On a two-dimensional grid graphic scheme, which cites the full/empty relation of an architectural facade structure, the play of shadows and light/dark, simulated by imaginary opposing light sources, generates a three-dimensional and spatial effect that is wisely non-realistic and full of ambiguity.

Awarded for the exclusive choice of FSC certified species, then glued on a non-woven fabric support also FSC certified, evoking a city that is itself a symbol of sustainability, also through the supply of FSC certified wood for the construction of some public works.

FRAMMENTI COSMICI by Mundula Gabriele

Dynamism, complexity and expressive richness characterize the project proposed for the Groovy collection, which, through the bas-relief technique, extends the meaning of decoration beyond the simple vertical dimension. Inside the bas-reliefs, which develop themselves irregularly over the entire surface, a mirror film is inserted, that reflects the environments, taking on an ever-changing appearance according to the light, the surrounding movements and the arrangement of the furnishings.
